Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue The. Ellis Taylor is an American actor and producer. She holds a BA in African-American Studies and an MFA from the Tisch School of Arts New York University. Aunjanue Lisa Ellis is a producer as well as an American actor active in the theatre in film, television, and theatre. She began her career acting in the theatre and then went on to be a part of numerous television shows, both mainstream and independent films. She came to prominence as Miranda Shaw on ABC's Quantico and appeared on BET's epic show The Book of Negroes for that she was not only rewarded with praise from critics but also received a host of nominations and awards including a Television Critics Choice Award nomination for Best Actress in a Film. In 1995 she made her acting debut on stage in The Tempest as Ariel. She's appeared as a character on Broadway as a part of Come and Gone, A Winter's Tale, Drowning Crow and Seeking the Genesis. Her most well-known work is her roles in the films Men of Honor, the Caveman's Valentine The Express & The Help. In her television work, she's been recognized for her role as a regular character on ABC's drama about cops High Incident.
